Thujone and camphor degrade noticeably in dried grocery sage. Impact adjusted from 3 to 2. Rubbed dried sage (grocery standard) performs differently from crumbled — the rubbed form is more powdery and disperses medicinal notes faster. Use sparingly and taste as you go.
